Getting all high-tech

So, I bought myself a dive computer the other day and let me tell you why. The first dive I did after I was certified, I had to resurface because I was low on air. My buddy and I went to 15 ft. and when we got there we realized we had no way of timing the stop. I thought I’d better get a waterproof watch for future dives and then I thought, why not spend a bit of extra cash and get a dive computer.  I ended up buying the Mares Matrix.  At the moment I’m still reading up on it and trying to work out what everything does. A good feature is that it connects directly to your PC where you can upload the log and at the same time charge the battery.  Now I’m one step closer to becoming a ‘proper’ diver.  I’ve just spoken to a friend of mine and it looks like I could be set for a dive in Labadee (that’s just of the coast of Haiti). I’ll let you know how it goes and I’ll try to include some pictures.

Well, here we go. This is a first attempt at blogging which I shall combine with something else I've just learned, Scuba Diving. I have recently passed my open water scuba course and what I know about the life aquatic is pretty much what I've seen on TV. They say nothing is better than firsthand experience ( I really don't know who 'they' are ) so hopefully this will teach me more about the world around us, or in my case, the world below. That's it for now, just a statement of intent. I'm sure there's some scuba jargon for saying goodbye but I'll just say happy diving.
